A honey label begging for more. It’s a bit kitschy and a bit silly with a dash of seriousness. The quote: “If you want to gather honey, don’t kick over the beehive” is from Dale Carnegie’s How to Win Friends and Influence People. The original bee image was originally made for Karine Maynard of Maynard Studios‘ honey label. Immediately surrounding the bee are floral sources of food. The hexagonal larvae cells were added to celebrate the Wood Engravers’ Network‘s 30th anniversary – find the burin, the sand bag and the end grain block in the cells to see wood engraving’s influence. The rest of the cells show multiple developmental stages of the honey bee.
