September 26th: Wood engraving presentation by Joanne Price as part of the 200th anniversary of the Erie Canal: “Canal Week” at Flower City Arts Center. Wood Engraving was the primary method of including illustrations in books and newspapers in the early 19th Century. The development of the techniques will be discussed with examples of this unique form of printmaking. $10 general admission at the door

September 27 and 28th: Wood Engraving: Historic Letterpress Illustration: a weekend workshop at Western NY Book Arts Center in Buffalo, NY! Buffalo is FULL of history and architectural charm – come join me in my home state and city to learn an illustration technique that’s meditative and easy to do at home. August 3-9, 2025: Join me for a week-long workshop on the beautiful JCCFS campus in the Appalachian mountains! Learn to cut a design into end-grain hardwood blocks through demonstration and hands-on practice. Learn everything you need to know to transfer your drawing, engraving and printing to a little bit of type setting, history of wood engraving, its folk origins, plus my pro tips and tricks.
