Learn one of the earliest methods of sewing a codex book, using a technique of chain stitching. The sewing thread links sections of the text block forming a chainlike pattern of stitches across an exposed spine. We will use wood covers for our book. Demonstration and hands-on activity are supplemented by instructional handouts resulting in a blank journal, diary or sketchbook – an elegant handmade gift that lays flat when opened. All supplies are provided.
All skill levels are welcome.
